About
Looking to know more about Pro-Fru or the person who keeps it running? This is a page filled with lovely little tidbits about the website and me, the webmaster. How It Started
You might be wondering, "How did she start out before she made all of this?" ...Or you could just be thinking "Why am I even on this page? There's nothing mildly interesting on here. I'm leaving."Whatever the case might be, you're here and you're reading, so I might as well tell you just how I got into all of this. How I got into making loops, remixes, just...everything. Whoo! Okay, let's do this! (Actually, it's not all that amazing. I'm just making a huge deal about it because I can.)
It all started when I wandered across some video on YouTube where some person had made a song on a program called Mario Paint Composer. After watching a bunch of Mario Paint-related videos, I downloaded the program and tried it out for myself. After getting more experienced with it, I uploaded some of my own stuff. Along the way I learned about Soundfonts and some other nifty things and eventually found this forum. I never joined, but I learned a lot from lurking around.
After a couple of months of working with Mario Paint, I came across another program called Pxtone. Interested, I downloaded it and found I could make a lot more songs with it. (Mario Paint Composer is a good program, but you can only have five instruments at a time and you only have one octave to work with.) I made two more videos, then I decided to try to use another program I'd actually discovered when I was near the end of making Mario Paint songs. This program is called...
FL Studio. I had actually tried to figure out how to use it, but I couldn't...so I just gave up. But then after I was getting tired of Pxtone (because I didn't like the instruments...I guess I'm just not much of an 8-bit person), I decided to give it another shot and I was actually smart about it this time and looked up some random video on how to make a song in the thing. After watching...about thirty seconds of it, I understood it and began experimenting on my own with the demo. Some more songs were spawned, and I was so in love with the program I asked and got it for Christmas (because I'm a spoiled, rotten brat) and I feel completely at home using it. I think one awesome thing about it is I keep finding new stuff. For example, I'd wanted to make more techno-themed songs, right? I fiddled around and looked at some stuff, and found some plug-in called Sytrus. Sure, I only have the demo at the moment, but it's still awesome. ...And I'll eventually get it and I'll be happy until I discover another plugin that's only a demo.
But anyway, after getting FL Studio and making a bunch of songs, I decided to start showcasing them at a certain forum. After getting a lot of feedback, I started accepting requests and so people asked me to make songs (unfortunately I couldn't do because I didn't have the instruments yet) from certain games and it was just really neat. After a series of events I found myself wanting to make a website so I could sort of keep an archive of my songs, and so Pro-Fru was born. And that is the site you're looking at today.
